Director of Professional Growth Valerie Beuschlein , Director of PTA Professional Growth

Valerie graduated from GateWay Community College’s Physical Therapist Assisting Program in May 2016. She enjoys the great partnership between physical therapists and physical therapist assistants, both working together to ensure the best experience and outcome for their patients.

Prior to graduation, Valerie was known for her leadership in Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. She held the role of Vice President of Community Service, and Vice President of Scholarship during her tenure as a PTK officer. Additionally, Valerie advocated for Veteran students on campus, developing a strong partnership with GateWay’s Veteran Task Force Committee.

During the second year of her program, Valerie was selected to participate with an APTA Student Assembly Project Committee, focusing on Professional Advocacy. This committee developed the second annual National Advocacy Dinner, a social and educational collaboration of professionals, students, and advocates, which was held in multiple states across the nation.

Valerie works in an outpatient orthopedic clinic, and enjoys the varying diagnoses that the outpatient setting can deliver.

Additionally, she is currently working on a project with GateWay Community College's HUG Clinic to provide pro bono physical therapy services to the local Veteran community.
Since graduating, Valerie has remained focused on promoting the physical therapy profession and benefits of APTA membership. She is a member of the Arizona PTA Special Interest Group, and has enjoyed volunteering in their many events in the community.
