Come join the PTA SIG for an update on current legislation affecting physical therapy and PTAs.  Learn about the APTA's current efforts and how to get involved in advocacy. Rachel will be discussing PTA reimbursement differential and how we can help support the APTA in making changes to support PTAs.  

Rachel Winthrop has a PTA degree from St. Catherine University in Minneapolis and earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in Biology.  She has been practicing in the field of Physical Therapy since 2007.  Currently, Rachel is a PTA on the Acute Medicine team at the Minneapolis Veterans Association Medical Center.  She received her APTA Neuromuscular Advanced Proficiency in 2011 and served on the Academy of Neurologic Physical Therapy Advanced Proficiency Pathway (APP) Task Force.  Rachel has been an active member of the APTA since 2006 serving in a variety of roles which includes MN PTA SIG chairperson, MN PTA Caucus representative, and PTA Caucus Nominating committee.  Rachel is currently the PTA Director on the MN APTA Board of Directors and the Federal Affairs Liaison to the PTA Caucus.
