 Speakers:
Seth Peterson, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Roger Kerry BSc(Hons) Physio, MSc (Manipulative Therapy), Postgrad Cert in Higher Ed, PhD

Course Title:
The Art of Catching Zebras

Course Description:

New understanding and guidelines on recognizing rare conditions (or “zebras”) have revolutionized differential diagnosis for physical therapists. Although physical therapists may have greater musculoskeletal knowledge than ever, their ability to appropriately examine, recognize, and respond to potentially serious conditions is in question.

In this interactive presentation, the speakers will discuss fostering a mental space that can improve diagnostic thinking, provide updates on serious spinal pathologies like cervical vascular conditions and cauda equina syndrome, and practice clinically vital examination skills. Real patient videos and scenarios will be discussed to help attendees improve their understanding and confidence when it comes to recognizing and responding to potentially serious conditions.
