Speaker: Rebecca Patton, PT, DPT
Bio: Rebecca Patton is the owner of Patton Pelvic Health, a pelvic PT clinic in Phoenix with a focus on gender inclusive and trauma- informed physical therapy. She is also a sexuality counselor and educator which brings in additional education and guidance for sexual health concerns. Rebecca graduated from Duquesne University in 2015 then traveled the country working in various clinical settings before specializing in pelvic health. She is passionate at working towards destigmatizing sexual and pelvic health concerns across the gender and sexual identity spectrum.
Title of presentation: Sexual Health Interviewing
Description: Sexual health is a part of functional health and a quality of life determinant for patients. Physical therapists only get a minimum amount of sexual health education but without the necessary skills to efficiently interview their patients for sexual health concerns. Attendees will learn foundational sexual health interviewing skills and referral processes to improve patient care and gain insight into the interdisciplinary network surrounding professionals who work with sexual health concerns.
