Pediatric Special Interest Group

The APTAAZ Pediatric Special Interest Group (SIG) was established in 2018 in order to create a community of physical therapists and physical therapy assistants dedicated to serving children in all pediatric settings. Our goal is to encourage life-long learning and collaboration between novice and experienced therapists and to promote pediatric physical therapy in the community

Goals of the APTAAZ Pediatric SIG:

●        To provide an opportunity for encouraging and enhancing communication among all pediatric PT/PTA’s

●        To provide continuing education in areas of pediatric physical therapy

●        To foster best practice in pediatric physical therapy through evidence-based practice

●        To increase participation of pediatric PT/PTA’s in the APTAAZ Pediatric SIG, Chapter, and Association

●        To represent the interests of AzPedsSIG members before the official decision-making bodies of the Chapter, Association, and other components

PTA Special Interest Group

The Arizona PTA SIG (AzPTASIG) was established in 1999. The first official meeting was held on March 30, 1999. Deborah Bornmann, PTA is credited with the establishment of this group in Arizona. The object of the AzPTASIG is the object of the American Physical Therapy Association and the Arizona Chapter as stated in their Bylaws. In addition, this group is to provide a means for the AZPTA to meet and promote the interests of Physical Therapists Assistants.

Student Special Interest Group

The Arizona Physical Therapy Association Student Special Interest Group (AzSSIG) exists to enhance the educational experience of all Arizona Physical Therapist and Physical Therapist Assistant Students and facilitate PT/PTA student contribution to and collaboration with the AzAPTA. This is accomplished through social networking as well as community and professional involvement.

Early Professional Special Interest Group

The Arizona Physical Therapy Association Early Professional Special Interest Group (EPSIG) exists to create a community for Arizona Physical Therapists and Physical Therapist Assistants who are beginning their career to go to for support and professional development as they enter the workforce.
